WHO IS COURTNEY WALDEN{PONDERS}?
Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.
Editor’s Note:
- Is this a quintessential pop culture reference that totally works to preface my biography? Yes.
- Do I have a natural instinct to quote this whenever possible with reckless abandon? Yes.
- Do you have “Do-Re-Mi” stuck in your head now? You’re welcome.
1986 - Pennsylvania
I come from a land of Quaker oaths, Billy Joel choruses, crayon and chocolate factories, cheesesteaks, and lock tender houses, among other quaint, rural attributes of the Keystone State. I was born and raised in the small borough of Slatington, known for being a town of slate, which has thusly earned it the distinguishment of “Blackboard Capital of America.” Chalk it up to my independent nature, instead of a practical career path, I chose to educate myself in the role of starving artist. So began my professional writing career as a freelance entertainment reporter for local newspapers.
2008 - Boston
I earned a B.A. in Writing for Media: History and Culture from Emerson College, which means I share my Alma mater with The Fonz, which means I make good decisions. During my scholastic tenure, I conducted celebrity interviews with the student paper, The Berkeley Beacon, and spent a semester in Los Angeles interning for E! Networks on "The Daily 10," a pop culture news show.
2012 - The Heart of Screenland
I hopped off the plane at LAX with a dream and my cardigan (classic East-coaster weather misjudgment). Having made the cross-continent and consonant shift from PA to LA, I launched WaldenPonders as a destination for celebrity interviews and entertainment musings. I enjoy speaking with creative and talented people and gathering their stories and histories for all of us to ponder. I'm also a proud member of the Sony Pictures Entertainment community.
