"Wild & Crazy Kids" Hosts Reunite!
September 2012
One of the most difficult theoretical dilemmas I had growing up was deciding which t-shirt color I'd want to represent if I ever got to be a contestant on "Wild & Crazy Kids."
I still don't know (too many choices!), and I still desire to own a pair of Moon Shoes, even if I'm never faced with the daunting task of popping as many overhanging balloons as I can with a needled helmet. -----------> Though, let's be honest, those of us who wanted to be wild and/or crazy would totally be on board if this appeared at a workplace retreat or family reunion. Are you listening, Extreme Makeover: Backyard Edition? Executive produced by veteran Nickelodeon idol, Marc Summers, the 1990-1992 game show featured two cycles of hosts including Donnie Jeffcoat, Omar Gooding, Annette Chavez (now Lesure), and Jessica Gaynes. |

Contestants completed various physical challenges, which most often resulted in being covered with slime, whipped cream, or indiscriminate goo.
Though my game show moment has passed, part of my dream came true when I got to spend time with the now "Wild & Crazy" adults, Donnie, Annette, and Jessica, during their reunion event at Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo. Watch the interviews, and check out photos from the panel below! But first, let's enjoy both versions of the show opening and that oh-so-familiar guitar riff.
