Robin Williams: The Craziest One of All
September 2013
On September 19, The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles presented
"A Legendary Evening with Robin Williams," a discussion centered on the actor's renowned career and return to television in CBS's "The Crazy Ones" opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar and James Wolk. That setup, my current favorite exposition, leads me to this statement: I interviewed Robin Williams. More accurately, I was lucky enough to hold his attention on the press line to ask him one brief question (post attempt of the "Nanu Nanu" handshake from "Mork & Mindy"), but point being, we're best friends, and "Entertainment Tonight" will be calling me any minute with a job offer because I. interviewed. Robin. Williams. Hook. Aladdin. Mrs. Doubtfire. Dead Poets Society. Jumanji. Good Morning, Vietnam. One Hour Photo. The Birdcage. Patch Adams. Insomnia.

The evening was filled with crack-ups and comedic chaos as Robin sat down with longtime friend, comedian/actor/director Bobcat Goldthwait (remember him from "Unhappily Ever After"?!), to lead the conversation. (Photo Gallery below!) Here's what Bobcat had to say about their friendship, his time directing "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", and what went down at a Robin Williams bachelor party:
"The Crazy Ones", airing Thursdays at 9/8c on CBS, features Robin as Simon Roberts, head of a powerful advertising agency, who works alongside his straight-laced daughter, Sydney (Sarah Michelle Gellar). I wonder if creator David E. Kelley wishes he could've called dibs on "Mad Men" before Matthew Weiner? Am I right?
Considering this new character, I decided to ask Robin about the ultimate advertisement - what slogan would he choose to advertise his life?
Take it away, Mr. Williams!

This is what happens when a genius Hook fan asks Peter 'Pan' Banning to produce his signature crow, complete with a smattering of unsavory
Robin Williams Stand-Up Language, which really makes this clip special. Earmuffs, Tootles, and BANGARANG!
