Let's Cheers to John Ratzenberger!
We got to know John Ratzenberger's name by watching him take up a barstool as U.S. Postal Service employee Cliff Clavin every week for 11 seasons on NBC's now classic sitcom Cheers, which aired from 1982-1993.
More than a familiar face, over the years John has also established himself as a voice actor, appearing in every single Pixar film to date. Hamm from Toy Story, anyone?
Just as genial as you'd want one of your real-life bar buddies to be, John took the time to answer a few of my questions, starting with a nod to one of
Cliff Clavin's most memorable scenes:
Resident know-it-all Cliff appears as a contestant on Jeopardy!.
Leading with $22,00 "big ones", Cliff prepares to take down the Final Jeopardy! category, "Movies". The clue reveals the birth names of three famous actors, who are popularly known by their adopted stage names.
Unable to provide the correct responses of "Cary Grant, Tony Curtis, and Joan Crawford", the ever confident Cliff delivers a now classic answer as seen in the clip below. Then watch our interview and see what John says 23 years later!
